​Snowmobiling is an extremely popular sport here. The snow-covered mountains provide a haven for avid riders, beginners, sport or leisure. Participate in guided rides or venture out on your own. You can also observe the Hill Climb Championships in Afton and Jackson, Wyoming.

Ice Fishing
Dog Sledding is a unique and beautiful sport. You can catch a race on certain dates in the wintertime in this area or take a dog sledding tour of your own with some of the local businesses!
There are many lakes and reservoirs surrounding the Afton area. Ice Fishing is a great family outing and adventure. With record fish swimming below the ice, it is always a surprise what may give you a bite!

The lakes, reservoirs, streams and rivers in Star Valley and surrounding areas are filled with trophy fish. Experienced anglers may wish to go out on their own and cross this off the bucket list. Granite Hot Springs

Intermittent Springs is a popular landmark outside Afton that many enjoy visiting. Hike to the base of a mountain and enjoy one of only three springs of its kind in the world. It is a medium grade hike so wear
comfortable shoes and enjoy the endless mountain views as you climb. There are enough hiking trails in Star Valley to make a traveler’s dreams come true in summer and fall. Strawberry Creek Trail up to Strawberry Lake is another view packed trek at the intermediate level, famous for wildlife sightings (especially moose)!

The Lincoln County Fair & Demolition Derby is an annual festive time of year. As summer comes to an end in Star Valley, enjoy the golden sunsets over the lights of the carnival and eat some yummy treats from the local food tents. Shop local and enjoy the cooler temperatures and changing leaves of the forests.
